This is what a professor once told me when I was getting my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1985. Unfortunately, in this age of Instagram, Snap-Chat, and camera phones, his statement has become all too true.

At first I took his statement as an insult to the profession I chose to make my life work, however later I realized it was a call to action for me to prove the artistic value of my photography.

Reviewing my work I see that much of my inspiration has come from Illustrators who view subjects through their own unique vision.

My work has evolved from routine photographs to fine art photo illustrations.
